30-Day Family Devotional Calendar
What’s the benefit of having Family Devotions?
There are many! Family Devotions create an environment where family faith is a priority. You will build into each family member spiritual habits that foster unity within the family. As parents, part of your responsibility is to disciple your children to follow Jesus. That is no easy task. By modeling your faith and discussing biblical values together, you will teach life lessons and strengthen family bonds. In a world where turmoil, chaos, and ‘unfairness’ are rampant, your family needs the anchoring of the Word of God to face life’s challenges.
The Real Question Is…..
Can your family afford NOT to have Family Devotions?
The Challenge for Your Family:
There will be many of these as well.
Be ready for pushback (especially if your children are in their teens). BUT, don’t cave! Your children, regardless of age, need the stability of a family committed to Jesus. Be that family for them. Lead with integrity, vulnerability, and love.
Suggestions for a Quality Family Devotional Time:
- Be consistent in holding your Family Devotions at least four times per week
- Be consistent in the time of day
- Read the devotional before sharing it with your family, so that you are prepared
- Open with a short prayer to ask the Holy Spirit to open ears and hearts
- Read the devotional (if your children are old enough, have them share this responsibility)
- Don’t be afraid to interject comments that will clarify or create discussion
- Close in prayer with family requests AND praises (encourage your children to participate)
- Keep a prayer book to record the requests AND to see how God answers (As you see answers to prayer, it will encourage everyone)
- When this 30-Day Family Devotion is concluded, KEEP going to reinforce a spiritual discipline within your family
A Few Tech Specs:
We have used TOCKIFY to create this calendar. Therefore, some of their settings do not do what we want. Ignore the heading below that says these are events from a specific date. Also ignore the dates on the devotional days. This 30-Day Family Devotional Calendar can be used on any day of the year.
