Orchard Projects

Mukti Mission US is bringing hope, healing, and life to children affected by the sex-trade. Our Orchard Projects are homes scattered across India serving the needs of children through residential and day-care facilities. Our children’s initiative Most@RISK! is a reflection of Pandita Ramabai’s heart.

YOU can help us give these children a better opportunity for life!

Children’s Initiative! Mukti Mission US is seeking to restore children affected by the sex-trade by shaping and transforming their shattered lives one at a time. Three of our newest Orchard Projects [These homes are in sensitive areas and therefore we respect the privacy and security of the children using names of fruit trees in India to designate these homes.] are at the forefront of the efforts Mukti Mission US is employing to address the pressing needs of children ‘Most@RISK’ giving these children a safe home and the chance for previously out-of-reach educational opportunities.

Project Goals: Within the next three years Mukti Mission seeks to expand and start four Orchard Projects focused on addressing the needs of children ‘most-at-risk’ in India and beyond. Properties will need to be purchased, facilities built, and ongoing funding secured. The cumulative impact of these projects will see over 300 children given the opportunity for healing, hope, and life!

These Orchard Projects are vital to address the needs of children affected by the sex industry. Your involvement through prayer and financial support will rescue boys and girls from the grip of man’s depravity and greed. Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission owns acreage where this home is located with an initial complex for 30 boys expanding to accommodate the target of 120 boys living on-site.

The projected monthly cost to maintain the facility will be US$3,000 once the home is open. This is a new project with no residents currently under Mukti Mission care.

Orchard Project Tamarind The Tamarind Project is in its infancy. Children from very poor families are ‘hired’ by unscrupulous people who tell families they will employ their children in India and send the money home. The children are then enslaved in the sex industry with no money returning to the families back home. Due to the extreme poverty of these people, they are desperate enough to continue taking the little given in exchange for their children. Undoubtedly many know this is what is happening to their children but survival supersedes care for their own. Mukti Mission US seeks to partner with a pastor who is already working to cut off the flow of children to India.
